Sojourn has been a leader in conservation and environmental protection among active vacation companies nationwide since the company’s inception.

Catalogs and other mailings are printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) paper products, ensuring that they were produced from sustainably-managed forests and recycled FSC certified products. FSC prohibits the destruction of natural forests and similar habitat, and prohibits the use of hazardous pesticides and cultivation of genetically modified trees.

For picnic lunches, snacks, and cocktail parties, Sojourn uses only plates, silverware and cups that can be washed (with phosphate-free soap) and reused again. We purchase locally made organic products wherever possible for use in our picnic
lunches. This not only ensures fresh and healthy snacks and lunches, it helps us reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy. It takes extra effort from our tour leaders but we all believe it’s worth it.

Our use of locally made and organic products extends from the t-shirts we give our guests to the restaurants, wineries and products we use in our day-to-day operations. Our water bottles are made of biodegradable BPA-free materials and our Cannondale road bikes were made in the United States.
