Sarcoma is a rare and dangerous cancer affecting both children and adults. Between 15-20% of all children’s cancers are sarcomas and roughly 1% of adult cancers are sarcomas. View the video, A Forgotten Cancer, to learn more.
Team Sarcoma is an internationally coordinated event designed to raise public awareness about this disease and the impact it can have on families, raise public awareness of the lack of young adults in cancer-related clinical trials, and raise money for sarcoma-related cancer research.
Team Sarcoma 2007 is a Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative project. Sojourn is coordinating the Team Sarcoma 2007 Bike Tour. On July 14th, the cyclists forming Team Sarcoma 2007 will meet in Burlington, Vermont to begin a week-long, inn-to-inn tour that will include stays in the towns of Middlebury and Stowe, as well North Hero in the Lake Champlain Islands. The complete itinerary is available as a download below.
The event is drawing cyclists from countries all over the world, including sarcoma patients, caregivers, physicians, friends, and families. This group will raise awareness of sarcoma by sharing their stories with those they meet. Sojourn is coordinating Team Sarcoma 2007.
