"We never imagined that every place we went
would be so beautiful or how much we would enjoy a bicycle tour. The beauty of Vermont and the tour leaders, who went above and beyond in every aspect, helped us experience our best vacation ever!

Whether you are a seasoned cyclist or a first-time bicycle tour enthusiast, Vermont's spectacular and historic Lake Champlain Valley is a not-to-be-missed destination for bike tours. Gently rolling routes are perfect for a leisurely paced vacation and historic inns offer comfortable relaxation.
Cycle a nationally renowned lakeside bike path in the vibrant small city of Burlington, frequently listed as one of the top places to live in the US. Join a naturalist for a guided kayak tour on a peaceful river teeming with waterfowl and wildlife.
Take in stunning views of the Adirondack Mountains during a cruise across Lake Champlain. Enjoy a fabulous bike ride on the opposite shores of the lake. Picnic in a lovely park overlooking the lake in the charming town of Essex, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as one of the most intact ensembles of pre-Civil War architecture in America.
Tour the sprawling grounds of Shelburne Farms whose lush, rolling hillsides are also home to stately architectural masterpieces. Walk along the network of trails that lace this gorgeous lakeside estate and working farm. Explore Shelburne Museum, one of the nation's finest museums of art and Americana, including the fascinating steamboat Ticonderoga, the last of its kind still in existence.
Visit Vergennes, an important maritime site during the Revolutionary War. The basin below the dramatic waterfalls in the center of town was an important ship building location during the French and Indian Wars and the War of 1812. Peruse several unique shops including a wonderful and creative purveyor of fine chocolates.
Bike through centuries old farmland sprinkled with classic barns and Vermont's signature Holstein cows. View thousands of snow and Canadian geese during annual fall migrations. Learn more about the maritime history of the area during a visit to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
The bed and breakfasts and historic inns on this unique itinerary date back to the 19th century and each has been lovingly restored. All are a short walk to local shops and restaurants, and serve their own fabulous and hearty Vermont breakfasts.
